Correction: TVUUC art show
Ha! B/c I have had more than enough on my plate these past couple of
weeks, I mixed up the dates and forgot to drop off my paintings
yesterday morning. Idiot. So, if you see the member's art show running
this month and next, I do NOT have any paintings in there. I guess all
I can do is laugh at myself, right?

My Redesign for Charity Program
ClementinesCloset's Shop Announcement
REDESIGN PROGRAM FOR CHARITY:
Please note that I do work with my customer's clothes that would normally be thrown out or given to charity. You would send them to me, I redesign them and you have the option of buying them back for less than I would sell them for. I will donate 20% to the charity of your choice whether you buy them back or I sell them to someone else. Just think, you are doing good for mankind, staying green, and getting "re-designed custom clothing". Email me if you have questions about my redesign program for charity.

Revisiting Old Habits
Everyone, Look At Me
Even The Water Stood Still
Nothing Could Move Me Now
Just Keep Moving
Not that it is a bad thing to revisit some old habits. I decided that I wanted to do some vague figurative small paintings and had some little canvases lying around. These are reminiscent (spelling?) of Linear Street which is my favorite of my own works.

Foundation
I am currently working on an idea that came to me while I struggled with "Collection". I realized that I wanted to go back to the basics of my color and palate and do some intense studies on the foundation of my abstracts. This is the first to come from this idea.

Media: Acrylic, pastel, pencil on stretched canvas

"Collection"
"Collection" was such a process for me. I began this painting trying to record each step of my production and then realized that it was actually interfering with my process. I stopped taking pictures of the evolution and just PAINTED. Finally, it felt right. So here it is, finally. Completed yesterday.
Title: Collection
Media: Acrylic, pencil and pastel on stretched canvas
Dimensions: 26x28x1

Evolution of my new large painting, Work in progress
First I begin with laying the linework in harsh box like patterns trying to determing where this painting will take me.
Next I begin a bit of softening those box shape patterns and working out not only my palette but the color scheme.
I then work on the "flow" of the painting and try to focus on the "forms" within the painting.
Next I begin to "paint out" portions and forms and now am beginning to think it is missing something huge.
P.S. When I asked my 5 year old what he thought it was missing, his response was, "I think you should paint a picture of Tony Hawk right in the middle." Now that is something huge! Stay tuned for more! Meg

Two very different works somehow evoke a sense of similarity to me
Until I flipped through my portfolio folder saved under "My Pictures" today, I had never noticed this before.
I kind of see something here...a similarity...sense of unity, or something. Two different mediums, two different surfaces. Very different styles and technique. So what is it? I cannot explain it.
Do you see it?

Mural time again....
I am so very excited that I am meeting my first mural client in quite some time. I had to turn down several in the recent months b/c of family needs and other work (blah). Either way, I am taking a few moments to do some accents for a nursery and decided today I will begin advertising again for mural and faux work. I am ready to get in there once again. So, if you know anyone who needs a little wall art, let me know! Thanks, friends!

Thanks to all those who have kept an eye on my Etsy store but I have decided for many reasons that I will unlist my items and focus on sales through booking shows, art markets, and through my agent. If you are interested in commissions or something you have seen in the past, please contact me or go to www.nicolacollection.com. Thanks!
